Location:
Drum Cafe Mauritius is located in the northern tip of Mauritius, near Grand Bay, in Pointe Aux Canonniers. DC Mauritius was established in December 2011, with a launch at Mamma Mia restaurant (Grand Bay) and a team-building gig for Arup Consulting Engineers.
I moved to Mauritius (from Johannesburg) in 2008 to live at the sea.
My original intention was to continue working in property development but given the crisis of 2008, I decided to stop working in that field completely.
While my wife works, I have taken on the role of stay-at-home dad, looking after our two kids. I knew Warren, the founder of Drum Cafe in the early nineties and have always been a friend. Recently I called him and we talked about drumming in Mauritius. There is a need for Drum Café, both for businesses here, and because Mauritius is a leading international conference destination.
I have employed 5 drummers in Mauritius, all professional musicians who back me up at gigs. 2012 should be awesome...
